I wrote this Tumblr post last year on the day I met AJ Perez. I saw him again today, but this time when I visited his wake in Christ the King before going to mass.

It was so surreal and hard to take in. Death is just so final and the fact that it can happen at any age but will inevitably happen to everyone scares me.
